Driven by our own chapter officer David Mills, Dallas Drone Racing is leading the charge for this exciting new Mega Class drones. The first official Mega Class Universal Time Trial (UTT9) was held on December 8th. This race resulted in some heart pounding laps with pilots only separated by milliseconds! David states “Who knows what times will shake out as more people get in on this Mega goodness. I feel like we’ve laid down some pretty solid starter times for 2020 Mega!”
The Mega Class is categorized as giant size drones measuring 800mm or larger with the gate standard of 12’ x 12’ opening as per the class set by MultiGP. This gate standard allows these drones fly at impressive speeds that you have to experience to believe. If you have never seen one of these Mega drones take to the sky you have to come to the next race to experience it yourself.
Check out our events page for the next Mega race being held by our Dallas Drone Chapter. Our next race is coming up on January 5th in Carrollton at our home field.
